CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS:
If a cancellation is made prior to the beginning of the semester, there is a $25 cancellation fee. If a cancellation is made after the first class has met, the cancellation fee is $50. If a cancellation is made after the second class has met, you forfeit 50% of the tuition fee. No refunds are given once the third class has met.
MAKE-UPS:
Each family may make up two missed classes per semester. A class may be made up ahead of a planned absence such as a trip, or after an unplanned absence such as an illness. Make-ups are a courtesy...the spaces we have are limited and we can’t guarantee make-ups for everyone who misses a class. Because the spaces are limited, please inform the director if you know you will be missing a class so that she may schedule an extra make-up space in your class that day. If you schedule a make-up and don’t attend, but do not cancel it, you will forfeit that make-up. Make-ups must be used during the current semester and may not be ‘rolled over’.
ILLNESSES:
Please do not bring a sick child to class. We’ve provided make-up opportunities so that we can keep all of the children as healthy as possible. Your fellow parents will appreciate your decision to keep your child at home. If you are sick, please make use the wipes and/or sanitizing gel during class.
CELL PHONES:
Please turn off and put away all cell phones and electronic gadgets once inside the classroom. Taking an occasional photo is fine, but interacting with YOU is better for your child than interacting with a camera.
FOOD, DRINKS, TOYS, ETC.:
Please don't give your child any food or drinks in the classroom. Not only is it difficult to keep the classroom clean, but other children want the food/drink which creates problems. Please also leave toys outside in the car or put them away or up on a shelf once inside. Toys take focus away from the music, tend to create jealousy and possessiveness and disrupt the class.
CLASSROOM SAFETY:
Policy: The adult attending class with a child is responsible for that child’s safe behavior. Although we accept age-appropriate kinetic behavior, a child’s motor control isn’t well-developed enough to avoid collisions when running and it often leads to injury of the child him/herself or another child. Your teacher may ask that a child engaging in running or wild spinning, etc. be taken out of the room to be calmed down. If a situation becomes chronic and disruptive it may be referred to the director for resolution.
CLASSROOM VISITORS:
The classroom experience can be easily ruined by overcrowding and due to problems in the past, we have had to set strict policies on visitors and guests. Please note that there are several categories of guests with different policies regarding their attendance. We’re always pleased to accommodate visiting grandparents, just let the director know to keep in this mind if there are other guest requests. Thank you.
Infant Siblings: (under eight months ) always attend free with a registered sibling.
Older Siblings: may attend one class per semester (due to school holiday, etc.) free of charge, providing that there is room (and the director has given the okay). There will be a $15 charge per class for further visits (again with permission providing that there is room).
Local Friends: If you have a friend from Oahu with an age-appropriate child whom you would like to try your class, we welcome them to come for a free preview. However, the director will need to speak with them directly to coordinate their visit.
Out of Town Friends: If you have a friend or relative from out of town with an age-appropriate child whom you would like to come to class with you, please call the director. She will arrange for you to do one of two things: you can use one of your make-ups, or you or the visitor can pay the $15 guest fee. In either case, there must be a make-up or preview spot available.
Occasional, leniency of this policy in an under-enrolled class does not imply that the policy does not continue to be in general effect. Only the director may make these determinations.
REFERRALS:
Policy: We are delighted that so many of our families recommend our program to their friends and we reward referrals with discounts. For each friend you refer, you get $10 off a subsequent semester. There are a few conditions, so please see the instructions for how to receive your referral discounts.
Instructions: When you refer a friend, ask them to tell us that you referred them. It helps if you also inform the director that same semester so that she can make a note on your record. If your friend completes the semester, then you are eligible for your discount the following semester. Before you register for the next semester, call the director who will give you a code to get your discount as you register. Please don’t register first and then ask for a $10 refund.
